A well water monitor that checks every minute
A private well is the owner’s to check. A lab test once a year shows one morning. A monitor on the line shows the other 364 days.
What a once-a-year test misses
Wells change with rain, drought, nearby work and the pump itself. A cloudy spell after a storm, or a slow drift in dissolved solids, comes and goes between tests.
What the monitor reads
| Reading | What a change can point to |
|---|---|
| pH | Acidic water that corrodes pipes, or a treatment system out of balance |
| TDS | More dissolved minerals or salts reaching the well |
| Turbidity | Sediment or cloudiness, often after heavy rain |
| Temperature | A change in where the water is coming from |
The WQM-1 reads pH, TDS, turbidity and temperature every 60 seconds and shows them in BlueSignal Cloud. Changes show on your dashboard. An email if the unit goes offline.
What still needs a lab
It does not test for bacteria, nitrate, arsenic, lead or PFAS. Those still need a lab test, and the PFAS check shows what EPA has on record for public systems near you.
Where it goes
At a well, the WQM-1 goes in at the pressure tank with its probes in a flow cell. It runs on 24 V DC. Any plumbing or electrical work is done by a licensed trade you hire.
Wiring it yourself? The wiring calculator checks each run before you pull cable.
Questions
Does it replace a lab test?
No. It reads four things continuously. Bacteria, nitrate, arsenic, lead and PFAS still need a lab.
What happens if the Wi-Fi drops?
It keeps reading and stores the readings on the unit, then sends them when the connection returns.
Will the monitor say my water is fine to drink?
No. A lab test and your local health authority can tell you that.
